While cutting my teeth at Australian airport retailer AWPL (now AWPL Lagardere), I gained exposure to a diverse range of Australian manufacturers, aiding in the promotion of their products to both domestic and international customers. Moving through various roles, I began with Point-of-Sale creation, transitioned to a Digital Communication Coordinator, and then took on positions as a Graphic Designer and Motion and Graphic Designer.
Having graduated from Swinburne University of Technology in 2020, I embarked on the path to my current role as a Motion Design Manager at Accent Group. Post-graduation, I represented my major (formerly Digital Communication Design, now Motion Design) on behalf of the University for prospective year 12 design students. Additionally, I presented industry insights and best practices to final year Motion Design students in 2022.
Within my current role, I collaborate daily with our internal team of Graphic Designers and Videographers to deliver cutting-edge motion graphics and aim to foster an environment of continuous learning and upskilling. I strive to enhance day to day processes and live by the age-old mantra of work smarter, not harder. Working closely with Accent’s Art Director Lucy Brand, we constantly strive to push creative boundaries and integrate new technologies to enrich storytelling across our diverse brands.
My involvement in various music acts and events in Melbourne has granted me a profound understanding of design’s role within the broader creative industry, particularly its ability to establish emotional connections and identity. Over the past 5 years, I’ve actively engaged with event organizers to introduce live VJ installations at grassroots festivals and nightclubs, incorporating artistic expression into unconventional spaces. These endeavours have not only contributed to Melbourne’s thriving cultural landscape but also provided emerging artists with a platform to showcase their talents and establish connections within the creative industry.
Through these diverse pursuits, my primary objective has been to contribute to the growth and enrichment of the creative ecosystem, both within internal design teams and the broader creative community. I strongly believe in the power of collaboration and knowledge-sharing as pivotal components for nurturing a thriving and dynamic industry.
I have over 6 years industry experience with previous roles including Point of Sale creation, Digital Communication Coordinator, Graphic Designer and Motion and Graphic Designer. Once arriving at Accent Group in I quickly progressed from a Mid Weight Designer to the Motion Design Manager at age 26. Additionally, I have been freelancing on and off for 5 years over the 6 year period. My current role at NAB is focussed on bringing design and motion capabilities in-house to give the business new found agility and technical skills to elevate their current work.
